William J. Knight

William J. "Rusty" Knight is the Division J judge of the 22nd Judicial District in Louisiana. He was elected to this position on October 5, 2002, and took office the following January.[1][2][3] He was re-elected in 2014 for a term beginning on January 1, 2015, and expiring on December 31, 2020.[4][5]

Education
Knight received his B.A. from Northeast Louisiana University in 1973 and his J.D. from Louisiana State University in 1976.[2]
Career
Knight began his career in 1976, working as an associate for the law firm of Hudson, Potts, and Bernstein in Monroe, Louisiana. He then worked as an assistant district attorney (22nd Judicial District) from 1979 to 1985 and as a private practice lawyer, primarily under the title Law Office of William J. Knight, from 1979 to 2002. He was then elected to the district court in 2002.[2]
