William Johnson was a 2012 Republican candidate for District 50 of the Iowa State Senate.

Johnson served in the Navy from 2001-2005 as a Hebrew linguist. He attended Loras Catholic College, receiving a degree in International Studies.[1]

Johnson ran in the 2012 election for Iowa State Senate District 50. He defeated John Hulsizer, Jr. in the Republican primary on June 5, 2012. Johnson was defeated by District 14 incumbent Pam Jochum (D) in the general election on November 6, 2012.[2][3]
