William Juergens
William George Juergens (1904-1988) was a federal judge for the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Illinois and the United States District Court for the Southern District of Illinois.
William Juergens was nominated by President Dwight Eisenhower on June 7, 1956, to a seat vacated by Fred Louis Wham; he was confirmed by the Senate on June 21, 1956, and received his commission on June 22nd. From 1965-1972, he served as the chief judge. He assumed senior status on April 26, 1972.
He served the Eastern District of Illinois until he was reassigned to the Southern District of Illinois on March 30, 1979. He served the Southern District of Illinois until his death on December 7, 1988.[1]
