Campaign themes
2014
On his campaign website, Worsham highlighted the following issues:[1]
Transportation
- Excerpt: "Polling routinely indicates that traffic congestion is the number one concern of Austinites. Bill will treat our traffic congestion issue as a top priority and has the civil engineering background to identify and support sensible solutions."
Water
- Excerpt: "The related issues of water supply, water treatment capacity and cost will always be worthy of close council attention. Coming council choices regarding Water Treatment Plant 4 start-up will affect the cost of living in Austin for decades to come."
Quality of life
- Excerpt: "Quality of Life begins with a roof over your head and food on the table. City actions are directly inflating housing costs. Bill will seek out the ways this is happening, both seen and unseen."

The city of Austin held elections for city council on November 4, 2014. The candidate filing deadline was August 18, 2014. Because of redistricting and term limits, there was no incumbent for District 10.[2] The candidates were Marjorie "Margie" Burciaga, Audrey "Tina" Cannon, Amanda "Mandy" Dealey, Sheri P. Gallo, Matthew L. Lamon, Jason W. Meeker, Robert D. Thomas and William L. Worsham.[3] Because no candidate received more than 50 percent of the vote in the general election, the top two vote-getters - Dealey and Gallo - faced each other in a runoff election on December 16, 2014.[4] Gallo was the winner.[5]
