William Maddox
William Maddox was a judge on the Nevada First Judicial District Court. After stepping down from the court, he became a District Attorney in Storey County.[1]
Education
Judge Maddox graduated from Carson High School in 1965 and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics from Texas A&M University in 1969.[2]
Military service
Maddox served from 1969-1971 in the U.S. Army including a tour to Vietnam. He was awarded the Bronze Star, Air Medal, and Combat Infantry Badge.[2]
Career
Judge Maddox worked as an Administrative Hearing Officer for the California Department of Benefits from 1975-1977; Deputy District Attorney for Carson City 1978-1981; Carson City District Attorney, 1981-1985; and was a Special Prosecutor for Douglas, Esmeralda, and Washoe counties. He served as the United States Attorney for the District of Nevada from 1985-1989 and entered private practice in 1989. He has extensive trial experience from the local to federal levels.[2]
Judge Maddox was appointed District Court Judge of the First Judicial District Court in August, 2000.
