William Marrero is a proud son of Hialeah who was born, raised, and deeply rooted in the city he calls home. He is a product of immigrant parents. William was raised with strong conservative values, a deep respect for family, and a commitment to public service. He grew up playing at Bright Park, where his passion for improving community spaces first began.A proud graduate of Hialeah Senior High School and a current student at Florida International University pursuing a degree in Public Administration, William has always believed in leading by example. During high school, he spent his summers interning, volunteering in the community, and staying active in local elections wherein he gained firsthand experience in civic engagement from a young age. At just 21 years old, William has been involved in local government since the age of 15. He currently works in the healthcare field and has previously served as an intern for Commissioner Rene Garcia and as the administrative assistant to Councilman Luis Rodriguez. Today, he is proud to serve on Hialeah’s Centennial Committee, helping shape the future while honoring the city’s rich past. William is running for Hialeah City Council, Group 4, to fight for the needs of working families, seniors, and first responders. His top priorities include lowering the cost of water and sewer services that burden our elderly residents on fixed incomes, investing in safer and better maintain
  • Lower cost of living: Hialeah is home to hardworking families who deserve the opportunity to live in the community they love. I will push to lower water and housing cost in our community
  • More resources for parks and youth programming: Our parks and youth programs are the heart of our community. I will fight to expand recreational opportunities, improve park facilities and have safe positive spaces for kids to thrive
  • Safe Streets and better lighting: Every resident deserves to feel safe in their own neighborhood. I will work to improve street lighting, invest in public safety, and support our first responders so that our families can live, work and play without fear
Public Safety, Infrastructure and Government transparency and Accountability
The first major historical event I clearly remember was the Covid 19 pandemic. I was 17 years old, in my junior year of high school when our lives changes overnight. Schools closed, families had to adjust, and our community came together in ways we had never seen before. Living through that moment at such a formative age taught me resilience and the importance of strong leadership in times of crisis.
