William McCoy
William McCoy (b. August 14, 1942) was a member of the Mississippi House of Representatives, representing the 3rd District from 1980 to 2012. He served as Speaker of the House from 2004 to 2012.
McCoy passed away on November 12, 2019.[1]
Biography
McCoy's experience included working as a farmer. He earned his B.S. from Mississippi State University and attended Northeast Mississippi Junior College. He also worked as a loan officer for the Farmers Home Administration, an auditor for the Mississippi State Department of Audit, and a vocational agriculture teacher.[2]

McCoy did not run for re-election in 2011. He declined to cite a reason for retiring.[3]
2007
On November 6, 2007, McCoy was re-elected in District 3, defeating Truman Lambert in the primary election by a margin of 878-330[4] and Republican challenger William Tracy Arnold in the general election.
