Primary: He was successful in the primary on November 4, 2014, receiving 46.7 percent of the vote. He competed against David Palay and Oliver Jackson Schrumpf.
General: He defeated Oliver Jackson Schrumpf in the general election on December 6, 2014, receiving 67 percent of the vote.

Education
Redd received a B.S. in business management from Louisiana Tech University in 1987, and a J.D. from Louisiana State University School of Law in 1990.[5]
Career
Before becoming a judge, Redd was the managing partner of W. Mitchell Redd, LLC and the city attorney for the city of Sulphur. He was formerly a partner at the law firm Liles & Redd, L.C. for 16 years.[5]
