Opalicky was defeated by incumbent Bill Huizenga.[1] Opalicky ran in the 2012 election for the U.S. House to represent Michigan's 2nd District. Opalicky ran as a Green Party candidate. He faced Democratic write-in Willie German, Jr., Mary Buzuma (L), Republican incumbent Bill Huizenga and Ronald Graeser in the general election on November 6, 2012.[2]
