Ballotpedia biographical submission form
The candidate completed Ballotpedia's biographical information submission form:
“ | What is your political philosophy?
The State Mine Inspector's office is currently out of federal compliance. Mines aren't being inspected on schedule, and violations are not being reported. This puts Arizona's miners, those who live and recreate around mines, our environment, and even the water we drink at risk. It also increases the taxpayer's risk of having to pay out to cover damages from a potential mining incident. I have spent more than 40 years in and around mines as an engineer. I am certified with the Mining Health and Safety Administration (MHSA), the Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OHSA), and the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC). I also have EPA training in erosion control and groundwater protection. I am the most qualified candidate to bring the office back into compliance, protect the safety of our miners, our environment, and our pocketbooks. I believe it is my duty to protect our land, water, and air for future generations. Is there anything you would like to add? I am a Clean Elections candidate, meaning I am taking no money from special interests or the mining industry.[2] |
