William Ruppel (b. March 10, 1947) was a Republican member of the Indiana House of Representatives, representing District 22 from 1992 to 2010. He served on the Wabash County Council from 1986-1992.

Ruppel is a farmer. He previously worked as a Teacher and Coach with Tippecanoe Valley School Corporation from 1973-2004. He has also been a teacher with Whitko School Corporation and Indianapolis Public Schools School Corporation, a delivery truck driver, electrician, and business owner.

He is a member of Butler University Alumni Association, Indiana Volunteer Fireman's Association, North Manchester United Methodist Church, State Fair Advisory Board, North Manchester Sons of American Legion, North Manchester Volunteer Fire Department, Indiana and American Associations of Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance, and the Wabash County Farm Bureau.[1]

Ruppel was defeated by Rebecca Kubacki in the May 4 primary by 715 votes. Kubacki faced Democrat Allen Dunnagan and Libertarian Thom Cox in the November 2nd general election.

2008

On November 4, 2008, Republican William Ruppel won re-election to the Indiana House of Representatives District 22 receiving 14,069 votes, ahead of Democrat Larry Rensberger who received 8,761 votes.[2]
