William S. Owens is an associate juvenile judge of Iowa District 8A. He was appointed to this position in 1999. Owens was retained to another six-year term in the 2010 general election. He was retained again in the general election on November 8, 2016.[1][2]

Biography

Owens graduated from the University of Kansas in 1981 and earned a J.D. from Drake University in 1984.[1]

He started his career in 1984 as an assistant Monroe County attorney and served as Monroe County Attorney from 1990 to 1998. Owens then worked in private practice until his appointment to the bench in 1999.[1]
