I'm a civil trial attorney who's represented clients in California for 25 years. Except for a year working as a Staff Attorney for the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of the Federated States of Micronesia, my entire life has been spent living, working, and raising my 5 children in California. I've served on the Board of Directors of the YMCA of Greater Long Beach and the Long Beach Bar Association, been a mediator, arbitrator, and Temporary Judge, and a youth sports coach and referee.
  • I am about education and jobs!
  • I am about the issues and getting things done!
  • My decisions are based on what is best for California regardless of political party affiliation.
My goal is to make the American Dream of a good education leading to a well-paying job that allows you to own a home and raise a family a reality in California. I will do this by:

1. Education aimed at specific career training.
2. Career training that leads to a well-paying job.
3. Making California's housing market affordable through programs aimed at assisting and encouraging home ownership.

4. Assisting families with programs that make raising a family more affordable.
The Lieutenant Governor chairs the California Commission for Economic Development [JOBS} and is a voting member of the Board of Regents of the University of California, the Board of Trustees of the California State University system, and the Board of Governors of the California Community Colleges system [EDUCATION]. The Lieutenant Governor is President of the Senate and serves on the State Lands Commission [GET THINGS DONE].
The hard-working fathers and mothers who find the time to both provide for their family and also be an integral part of it.
Our elected officials should be inspiring, hard-working, ethical, and intelligent.
I am hard working, ethical, caring and intelligent. I love California and desire to help Californians make the American Dream a reality.
He helped make the American Dream a California Reality for me.
I truly don't recall, but the event that affected me most as a young man was the death of my mother JoAnn Buist Robert during my third year in college at the University of California, Irvine.
Daily Breeze paperboy in Torrance, California for two years.
To Kill a Mockingbird. Because I believe in the power of good.
I suffered a right-sided stroke May 13, 2014 and was in the hospital for 6 days. While in the hospital, with blurry eyes, I made a social media post, "I will beat this". Unable to drive, I would walk to the gym, and one Saturday morning I saw a running group with red shirts. It was Cottonwood Church training for the Long Beach Marathon/Half Marathon and raising money for Grateful Hearts. It was a sign. I joined, and ran my first marathon 5 months after having the stroke. I ran 5 more marathons thereafter.
The Lieutenant Governor is Acting Governor whenever the Governor is absent from the state, and automatically becomes Governor if a vacancy occurs.
The ability to truly understand the current needs and desires of Californians.
Say Knock Knock.
