William Sharer (Republican Party) (also known as Bill) is a member of the New Mexico State Senate, representing District 1. He assumed office in 2001. His current term ends on December 31, 2028.
Sharer (Republican Party) ran for re-election to the New Mexico State Senate to represent District 1. He won in the general election on November 5, 2024.
Sharer was selected as the Senate minority leader effective January 21, 2025.[1]
Biography
Sharer earned an associate degree from the New Mexico Military Institute in 1979 and a bachelor's degree from New Mexico State University in 1981. He served in the United States Army from 1982 to 1992. His professional experience includes working as a businessowner and manager.[2]
