William Sioux Woolley
William Sioux Woolley (Republican Party) is a judge for Division 23 of the Kansas Eighteenth Judicial District. He assumed office in 2000. His current term ends on January 8, 2029.
Woolley (Republican Party) ran for re-election for the Division 23 judge of the Kansas Eighteenth Judicial District. He won in the general election on November 5, 2024.
Education
Woolley earned his B.A. from Stanford University, his M.B.A. from the University of Kansas, and his J.D. from the University of Kansas School of Law.[1]
Career
Woolley was appointed to the Eighteenth Judicial District in 2000. Before his appointment he was an attorney for the U.S. Department of Justice.[1]

Woolley ran unopposed for re-election in 2012.[4] On November 6, 2012, he was re-elected to his seat after earning 99.1% of the vote and 103,752 votes.[5]

In 14 of the districts of the Kansas District Courts, judges are chosen in partisan elections.[6] These judges serve four-year terms and run for re-election at the end of their terms.[7]
Qualifications
To serve on this court, a judge must be:[7]
- a state and district resident;
- a member in good standing of the state bar for at least five years; and
- under the age of 70. If a sitting judge turns 70 while on the bench, he or she may serve out the term.
