- Dismantle the School-to-Prison Pipeline! Overpolicing and reactionary discipline has led to a reality where children -- especially children of color, children with disabilities, and LGBTQIA+ children -- are targeted by law enforcement, become involved in the juvenile justice system, and eventually the adult justice system. That's when I meet them at the Public Defender's Office. We need to break this cycle.
- Protect our most vulnerable students! Our LGBTQIA+ kids, our BIPOC kids, our kids with disabilities, and any student who could become pregnant.
- Promote Public Schools! The Arizona Legislature has been hostile to public education my entire life. They cut funding to schools then ask why public schools are struggling. They use this to justify further cuts. We need to support our teachers and staff. We need to hear from our teachers' unions. We need to stand up to the state and make TUSD a district we can be proud of.
But assimilation and artificial heart aside, it'd be kinda cool to be Captain Jean Luc Picard.
