William Swart

William Swart is an at-large member of the Newburgh Enlarged City Board of Education in New York. He won the general election on May 20, 2014. He ran unsuccessfully for a seat on the board on May 17, 2011.
Biography
William Swart is a resident of Orange County, New York. Swart holds B.A., M.S. and Ed.D. degrees. He is employed as the Graduate Educational Programs coordinator at Mount Saint Mary College.[1] Prior to taking that position, Swart worked as a classroom teacher, school building leader, associate superintendent for pupil personnel, associate superintendent for instruction and superintendent of two school districts.[2]

2014
William Swart, Kenneth Copertino, Carole Mineo and Darren Stridiron defeated incumbents Dawn Fucheck, Mark Levinstein and Thomas Woodhull and seven fellow challengers for the four at-large seats in the general election on May 20, 2014.
One of the seats up for election was vacated as a result of the death of board member Judith A. McAfee. Stridiron, the candidate who won election but received the fewest votes, received that seat, which carried an unexpired two-year term.[3]
