William "Willie" Vaden
William Willie Vaden was a 2016 Republican candidate who sought election to the U.S. House to represent the 34th Congressional District of Texas.[1] Vaden was defeated by Rey Gonzalez Jr. in the Republican primary on March 1, 2016.[2]
Vaden was a 2012 Republican candidate for District 43 of the Texas House of Representatives.

Heading into the election, Ballotpedia rated this race as safely Democratic. Incumbent Filemon Vela (D) defeated Rey Gonzalez Jr. (R) in the general election on November 8, 2016. Vela faced no opposition in the Democratic primary on March 1, 2016, while Gonzalez defeated William "Willie" Vaden to win the Republican nomination.[3][2]

Vaden ran in the 2012 election for Texas House of Representatives, District 43. Vaden was defeated by incumbent J.M. Lozano and Bill T. Willson, II in the May 29 primary election.[4][5]
