Willie Fred Gore (Republican Party) (also known as Fred) is a judge for Seat 5 of the North Carolina Court of Appeals. He assumed office on January 1, 2021. His current term ends on January 1, 2029.

Gore (Republican Party) ran for election for the Seat 5 judge of the North Carolina Court of Appeals. He won in the general election on November 3, 2020.

Military career

Gore joined the North Carolina National Guard after high school. He served in Iraq in 2006 and 2007. He later became a Judge Advocate General Officer. He served in Kuwait in 2011.[1]

Education

Gore received his undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in 1998 and his J.D. from the Appalachian School of Law in 2005.[1]

Career

Gore began his legal career working for the Durham County District Attorney's Office. In 2011, he moved to the district attorney's office for the counties of Brunswick, Bladen and Columbus. While stationed in Kuwait with the National Guard in 2011, he served his brigade's legal team as the chief prosecutor and officer in charge. He then returned to the district attorney's office.[1]

General: He defeated incumbent Judge Sherry D. Prince in the general election on November 4, 2014, receiving 56.5 percent of the vote.[2]
