A lifetime public servant, licensed Master Peace Officer, and business owner who has been serving the needs of Texans for almost 30 years. In addition to law enforcement experience, public service initiatives, and volunteer work - Willie Vasquez Ng is also a member of multiple nonprofit boards dedicated to the safety and prosperity of the community.
  • As a business owner, I know how high taxes can hurt the community. I’m for low taxes and fewer Federal regulations which means more jobs and a better economy.
  • As a police detective, I saw firsthand what it means for us to have open borders: It means more drugs in our streets, more crime in our cities, and more pain for all Texas families. In Congress, I will fight to finish the wall, secure our borders, as well as give local and state law enforcement the power they need to crack down hard on crime.
  • There’s no better way to serve my neighbors than be willing to sacrifice my life to keep them safe. That’s why I became a police officer and why I stand with law enforcement against those who seek to defund the police.
Willie Vasquez Ng has a strong concern for public safety. He believes that “we must gain control over crime because if we do not, we risk losing all we treasure. Where there’s high crime, there’s no economic development, no workforce, and poor education. Without public safety, there is no prosperity. America is the greatest nation in the world, but to keep us number one we must address issues like violent crime and border security. We must avoid the mistakes that destroy successful countries, like high taxes and regulations that make it harder to get a job. And we must keep our nation unified by rejecting divisive philosophies like Defund the Police and Critical Race Theory.”
Multiple people helped shape how I live my life: Martin Luther King, Jr., Mahatma Gandhi, Mother Theresa and other faith figures. However, surviving stage 4 cancer completely changed my perspective and helped me to reevaluate what is important, while prioritizing what matters. There is not just one person I look up to, I like to pull positive attributes from all good people that inspire me to be better or improve myself. I pull favorable attributes from folks I meet along the way and try to incorporate the positive qualities and habits into my daily life. I can find inspiration anywhere and from anyone in any walk of life - whether it be someone struggling with homelessness to a constituent impacted by violence family violence or a large campaign donor - if they are a good person and have something to teach me, I will eagerly listen and learn. I also believe it is important to be true to yourself and not lose sight of who you are, your family's needs, and life goals. So, while I take joy in learning from those around me and work to consistently improve myself, I also stay honest in my convictions and family beliefs in order to find a balance and be the best version of myself in all situations.
Public service and community advocacy is key. For example, in addition to my many years of non-profit work and public service initiatives, I have served on various boards and worked with many organizations dedicated to the safety, well-being, and prosperity of our community. I and my wife, Ruby, also founded The Willie Ng Family Foundation, which is committed to helping improve the lives of those in need. We have donated thousands of dollars in scholarships to students across Texas as well as provided financial support to low income cancer patients, and any other person in need who is struggling to take care of their family.
In Congress, I will stand up for the traditional values that made America great and will make sure that we put always put our county and community first. I will fight to secure the border and stop illegal immigration. I will vote to lower taxes and cut job-killing regulations, while working to eliminate other regulations that make it harder to own and operate a business. I will stand up for law enforcement, crack down on crime, and stop any effort by radical activists to defund the police. I will finish the wall, secure the border, and give police the power they need to crack down on crime.
5 years ago, my entire life changed. I was diagnosed with stage 4 throat cancer. I went through grueling treatment and persevered thanks to the support of my wife, family, friends, the great doctors at MD Anderson San Antonio, and lots of prayer. I never stopped believing in my health journey and God’s healing power. It was a very difficult fight to reach recovery and remission, but it made me a stronger person and brought things into perspective. I know I would not be where I am today if not for my community. Although I still encounter some long-term side effects from the radiation and chemo - I wouldn’t change a thing. It reminds me of God's miracle and keeps me focused on why I work so hard to help others. I can truly say I am a better man today because of it.
Washington needs strong leaders who understand the legislative process. When elected to Congress, I will continue to make a positive impact on Texas communities by actively participating in committees that improve public safety. One example of this type of direct impact is my previous collaboration with lawmakers to create policy that would decrease crime and create skilled workers. Texas House Bill 918 (HB918) was a bill that focused on criminal justice reform and reintegration programs in order to reduce recidivism. As a member of the Texas Association of Business’s Criminal Justice Reform Committee, I was honored to be a part of the development and successful passing of this important legislation which was eventually signed into law by the Governor.

Campaign website

Ng's campaign website stated the following:

KEY ISSUES

2ND AMENDMENT

As a veteran police detective and a professional firearms instructor, I know that the right to bear arms isn’t just about hunting and fishing:

It’s about having the tools, the skills, and the right to keep our friends and family from crime and violence, and to protect our country from tyranny.

That’s why I will always be 100% opposed to any effort to restrict our Second Amendment.

BORDER SECURITY

As a San Antonio Police detective and Chief Criminal Investigator for Bexar County, I saw firsthand what it means for us to have open borders:

It means more drugs in our streets, more crime in our cities, and more pain for all Texas families.

In Congress, I will fight to finish the wall, secure our borders, and give local and state law enforcement the power they need to crack down on crime.

STANDING WITH THE POLICE

When I was a boy, two of my family members were brutally killed. They were completely innocent victims and one of the murders continues to remain unsolved today.

I became a police officer because I believe that there’s no better way to serve my neighbors than to be willing to sacrifice my life to keep them safe.

Radical left-wing activists want to defund the police and stop enforcing our laws.

As your representative in Congress, I will block any effort to defund the police, and I’ll fight hard to protect our police, just like they protect us, every day.

SMALL BUSINESS

I believe that giving back is the key to happiness. That’s why I’ve spent years working with the Maestro Entrepreneur Center.

Lots of people have a genius idea for a business, but they don’t know how to run a business.

I volunteer at Maestro Entrepreneur Center in San Antonio because I love seeing small business owners make their dreams a reality.

TAXES

As a Texas business owner myself, I know firsthand how much high taxes hurt everyone—employees, families, and our whole community.

Biden and the Democrats in DC say that they can tax their way to prosperity.

But Texans know that’s a lie.

We know that the path to prosperity is making it easier to create jobs and raise a family.

That’s why I’m for low taxes and less Federal regulations—it means more jobs, more happy families, a better Texas.

ENERGY POLICY

In 2019, America was energy independent: we produced more energy than we consumed.

But when Joe Biden took office, he turned back to the past.

Biden and the Democrats ramped up regulations that hurt domestic energy production and ravaged the US economy.

In Congress, one of my top priorities will be putting America back on the road to permanent energy independence by rolling back regulations and supporting domestic energy production.[2]
