Wilma Guzman is a judge of the New York Supreme Court 12th Judicial District. She assumed office in 2006. Her current term ends on December 31, 2033.
Guzman (Democratic Party) ran for re-election for judge of the New York Supreme Court 12th Judicial District. She won in the general election on November 5, 2019.
Education
Guzman received her undergraduate degree from the John Jay College of Criminal Justice and her J.D. degree from St. John's University School of Law.[1]
Career
Guzman worked for the law firm of Schneider, Kleinick, Weitz, Damashek & Shoot as a personal injury litigator and was an adjunct professor at the John Jay College of Criminal Justice prior to becoming a judge. She joined the New York City Civil Court of Bronx County in 1999. She served there until 2008. She was appointed an Acting Justice of the Supreme Court in 2005 and was elected to the Supreme Court in 2006.[1]
