The 3rd Congressional District of Wisconsin held an election for the U.S. House of Representatives on November 8, 2016.
Heading into the election, Ballotpedia rated this race as safely Democratic. Incumbent Ron Kind (D) faced no opposition in the general election on November 8, 2016. Kind defeated Myron Buchholz in the Democratic primary on August 9, 2016.[4][5]

Wisconsin's 3rd Congressional District encompasses Adams, Buffalo, Crawford, Dunn, Eau Claire, Grant, La Crosse, Pepin, Pierce, Portage, Trempealeau, and Vernon counties. Parts of Chippewa, Jackson, Juneau, Monroe, Richland, and Wood counties also lie within the district.[8]
