Wisconsin Senate to vote on January 19th on issue ad legislation
January 15, 2010
MADISON, Wisconsin: The Wisconsin State Senate is scheduled on January 19th to make considerations along with a possible vote on Wisconsin Senate Bill 43[1].
Senate Bill 43 is campaign finance related legislation that would require all disclosure of donors for issue ads funded by independent expenditure campaigns for any election including statewide referendums[1].
The legislation calls for disclaimers on advertisements and disclosure of donors if the issue ad is placed in the final sixty days of an election. Groups such as Common Cause of Wisconsin and the Wisconsin Democracy Council fully endorse the legislation[1].
