Harrisburg, Pennsylvania: The 2014 Pennsylvania primary elections were held on May 20, 2014. There were two competitive primaries with nine candidates contesting the Democratic nominations for governor and lieutenant governor. The Democratic nominees for Governor and Lieutenant Governor of Pennsylvania won their party's nominations with commanding leads in the primary. Tom Wolf emerged as the nominee for governor, while Mike Stack won the lieutenant gubernatorial contest.
They will go on to the general to challenge the Republican incumbents, Governor Tom Corbett and Lieutenant Governor Jim Cawley, along with Green Party and Libertarian tickets.
Pennsylvania Governor
Businessman Tom Wolf started behind his better-known opponents but soared into the lead with a series of early TV advertisements and remained well ahead of the rest of the field.

Pennsylvania Lieutenant Governor
In a crowded and heavily regional primary field, Mike Stack built up a big lead in Philadelphia and eastern Pennsylvania while his opponents divided the rest of the state.[1]
