Wright McLeod was a 2016 Republican candidate for District 123 of the Georgia House of Representatives.

McLeod was a 2012 Republican candidate who sought election to the U.S. House to represent the 12th Congressional District of Georgia.

Biography

Education:[1]

  • Bachelor of Science degree in political science, U.S. Naval Academy
  • Juris Doctorate, University of Georgia School of Law
  • Master's in National Security Studies, Georgetown University

Career

McLeod attended the United States Naval Academy. He retired as a Commander after 20 years of service. As of the 2012 election, he was running a real estate law firm.[1]

Reduce and eventually abolish the state income tax

Elections for the Georgia House of Representatives took place in 2016. The primary election took place on May 24, 2016, and the general election was held on November 8, 2016. The candidate filing deadline was March 11, 2016. Incumbent Barbara Sims (R) did not seek re-election.

Mark Newton ran unopposed in the Georgia House of Representatives District 123 general election.[3][4]

McLeod ran in the 2012 election for the U.S. House to represent Georgia's 12th District. McLeod was defeated in the Republican primary.[7] The signature filing deadline was May 25, 2012, with the primary on July 31, 2012. The primary election will be recounted and the top two candidates will go to run-election.[8]
