The Wyoming Supreme Court Members, Amendment 4, also known as Amendment No. 4, was on the ballot in Wyoming on November 7, 1972, as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment. It was approved.
For a measure to pass in Wyoming, it must receive a majority of the total votes cast in an election. The total votes cast was 151,541. Therefore, the majority needed was 75,770.[1][1]

The question on the ballot:
| The proposed amendment authorizes the legislature to determine the number of justices of the Wyoming Supreme Court; and provides the method for selection, election, discipline, removal, and voluntary and compulsory retirement of said justices and district judges.[1][2] |
