Gillette, Wyoming: A judge has ordered $20,733 to be repaid to Christina Maycock, a former Campbell County cemetery supervisor whose conviction of fraud was overturned. Maycock was convicted by a jury of felony charge of obtaining property by false pretenses. Prosecutors argued at trial that Maycock falsely represented that she was married to obtain a family rate on insurance premiums from the cemetery district. Maycock had divorced her husband, but remarried after the time she was accused of falsely representing her marital status. The Wyoming Supreme Court found, however, that there was no proof that the cemetery board's decision to grant insurance coverage to her former husband relied on Maycock's misrepresentation of her marital status.[1]
