Xiangfei Cheng
Xiangfei Cheng was a 2014 Republican candidate for District 39 of the Maryland House of Delegates.
Biography
Cheng earned his M.D. from Nanchang University School of Medicine in 1983. He went on to earn his Ph.D in biochemistry from University of Umea in Sweden in 1995. He completed postdoctoral work at Northwestern University in 1996.[1]
At the time of his candidacy, Cheng was working as an instructor at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. Cheng had worked there since 2000.[1]
Elections
2014
Elections for the Maryland House of Delegates took place in 2014. A primary election took place on June 24, 2014. The general election was held on November 4, 2014. The filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was February 25, 2014. Incumbents Charles Barkley, Kirill Reznik and Shane Robinson were unopposed in the Democratic primary, while Gloria Chang, Xiangfei Cheng and Al Phillips were unopposed in the Republican primary. Barkley, Reznik and Robinson defeated Chang, Cheng and Phillips for three seats in the general election.[2][3][4]
