Xiomara Rodriguez
Xiomara Rodriguez was a 2012 Democratic candidate who sought election to the U.S. House to represent the 2nd Congressional District of Nevada.
Biography
Rodriguez was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico. She attended the University of Puerto Rico before joining the U.S. Coast Guard. In 1977, she was transferred to the DC area, where she became the first Latina recruiter for the Coast Guard. She retired from the USCG in 1997, and moved to Nevada, where she lives today.[1]

Rodriguez ran in the 2012 election for the U.S. House to represent Nevada's 2nd District. She lost to Samuel Koepnick in the Democratic primary on June 12, 2012.[2][3]
