I am an information technology professional and Gwinnett County resident running for the Georgia House of Representatives in District 97. My wife, Anastashia, and I live in Gwinnett and are expecting our first child, and like many families in our community we want it to remain a safe, affordable place to live and raise a family.

Born in Cairo, Egypt, to an American mother and an Egyptian father who met while working at the U.S. Embassy, I moved to the United States at the age of eight and grew up in Gwinnett County. I attended local schools, including Parkview High School, before beginning a career in information technology.

Running for the Georgia House is rooted in a belief that our community benefits from practical leadership focused on the cost of living, online safety for children, strong public safety, and responsible tax policy.
  • Families shouldn’t feel like their property tax bill can be raised whenever government wants more revenue. I support reforms that limit large assessment-driven increases so homeowners have more predictability and stability. I also support continuing to responsibly reduce Georgia’s income tax over time when economic growth and budget surpluses allow. Tax relief should be implemented in a sustainable way that protects essential services while lowering the overall tax burden on working families.
  • Rapid growth in energy-intensive facilities such as AI data centers is increasing demand on Georgia’s power grid. I believe families and small businesses should not face higher electricity bills because of the energy demands of large industrial users. If elected, I will support policies that require high-consumption facilities to pay rates that reflect their full energy demand or provide their own power generation capacity. My goal is to ensure that the costs of expanding energy infrastructure are not shifted onto local households while still allowing responsible technological growth.
  • I support policies that restrict open public chat features in games designed for minors and give parents stronger tools to control who can contact their children online. The goal is to make it easier for families to manage online interactions while allowing kids to continue enjoying technology safely.
I am passionate about policies that help families afford to live and thrive in their communities. Many households today face rising costs for housing, energy, and everyday expenses, and I believe government should focus on reducing financial pressure rather than adding to it. As an information technology professional, I am also deeply interested in the intersection of technology and public policy. Policymakers must ensure that technological growth benefits communities while protecting families, including keeping energy costs fair and improving online safety protections for children. I believe practical, responsible governance can help Georgia remain a place where families from many backgrounds can succeed.
