Campaign themes

2016

The following issues were listed on Lee's campaign website. For a full list of campaign themes, click here.

  • Economic Development That works for Families & Small Businesses: As the CEO of a growing and successful Community Bank, Yungman knows what works and what doesn’t work—not from an abstract policy perspective, but from the view of someone who regularly evaluates and approves (or not) loans for small businesses and home buyers. Yungman has the qualifications to be an economic leader in this area, and as such he would champion a variety of new programs specifically geared for community businesses & the neighborhoods they serve.
  • Health Insurance and the Affordable Care Act: Defend the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare) and continue to make improvements aimed at reducing the cost of premiums, deductibles, co-pays and other out-of-pocket costs.
  • Affordable Housing and Neighborhood Revitalization: Continue and expand federal investments in Community Development Corporations (CDCs), non-profit community-based organizations that focus on revitalizing low-income communities through developing residential and commercial space, promoting home ownership, and carrying out job creation strategies.
  • Services for Elderly and Caregivers: Supporting the “sandwich generation:” Nearly half of adults in their 40’s and 50’s have a parent age 65 or older and are either raising a young child or financially supporting a grown child (age 18 or older). These people need appropriate, relevant caregiver support. Working with social service providers, foundations, and government agencies, Yungman will be a leader in assisting those taking care of both aged, struggling parents and children.
  • Immigration Reform & Defense of Immigrants in our Community: Yungman believes that immigrants are America’s lifeblood, key to our identity and continued prosperity. That is why he is a vocal proponent of immigration reform, legalizing the status of undocumented immigrants and providing a path to citizenship for people who have made their life in this country.
