Yvette Sterling was a 2011 Democratic candidate for District 7 of the New Jersey General Assembly. Sterling's candidacy was found invalid in late April.[1]

Sterling was Democratic candidate for District 7 of the New Jersey General Assembly. Sterling was bracketed with Ken Gordon for the June 7 primary. Troy Singleton and incumbent Herb Conaway advanced to the general election on November 8, 2011.[2]
With redistricting moving nine-term Republican incumbent Joseph Malone, III from the 30th to the 7th District, NJ Spotlight identified the 7th as a potential place for the GOP to pickup a seat in the Assembly.[3]
