Yvonne Miller was a Democratic member of the Virginia State Senate. She served as a Senator representing the 5th District from 1988 until her death on July 3, 2012.[1]

Miller attended Norfolk Division of Virginia State College and received a Bachelor's Degree at Virginia State University. Additionally, Miller received a Master's Degree at Teachers College, Columbia University and a Ph.D. at University of Pittsburgh.

In addition to serving as senator Miller worked as a professor at the Department of Early Childhood/Elementary Education and retired in 1999. Miller was a Professor Emeritus at Norfolk State University in 2000 and a member of the Faith Temple Church of God in Christ.[2]

On Nov. 6, 2007, Miller won re-election to the 5th District Seat in the Virginia State Senate.[3]
