Who are you? Tell us about yourself.

I am a native of the Topeka area with experience in leadership and civic engagement. I am passionate about public service and my community. I currently serve as the Business Development Director for my family’s business, R&S Maintenance, which is in its third generation of family leadership. I am also the Chair-elect of Forge Young Talent in Topeka. Through Forge, I have worked to empower young talent in our community to get involved with shaping the future of Topeka through advocacy and networking. I also sit on the Board of the Topeka Chamber of Commerce and the City of Topeka’s Human Relations Commission. Previously, I served on the Meriden City Council and as the Student Body President at Washburn University where I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Public Administration. I was inspired to get involved by my father, who was the Mayor of my hometown of Meriden for 14 years while I was growing up. It is my goal to inspire another generation of innovators and public servants by showing them the power of their own voices in their communities.

Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?

• I will be a new voice for Topeka. Currently, the two fastest growing demographics in our area are 18-35 year old's and children under 18. When we look at our elected officials now, we rarely find representation from those exact groups. If we truly want to build a strong future for the next generations, we have to invite them to the table. I am uniquely situated to take on that role in our community and am ready to serve the people of my district and my city.
• I have the experience it takes to serve on the City Council. I have served on the City Council in Meriden, been the Student Body President at Washburn University, am a leader in the Young Talent organization in Topeka, and serve on a city commission. I have taken the steps to understand the needs and priorities of our community and know the right avenues to create and pursue solutions. If elected, the residents of District 6 will know I have what it takes to get the job done.
• I have the vision to move Topeka in the right direction. I know the complexities of finding the balance between public and private investment in a community. Topeka is full of amazing people and each one has some idea of how they want to see our community grow and change. Now is the time to connect those ideas with actions! We've seen what we can accomplish when we come together and set collaborative goals, but we can't stop because the last five years were a success. We need to continue to look towards the future of our community.

What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?

I am personally passionate about policy areas such as education, criminal justice, voting rights, infrastructure, and environmental policies.
