I'm a young community activist and union worker. I'm running to represent District 4 on our Board of Commissioners because I've grown up working class in Spalding County and understand the needs of working families in our county. I currently serve as an officer for the Fayette-Spalding Cooperative (FSC), I was elected by our membership to represent them on the Coordinating Committee. I've been a professional event organizer since 2016; in 2021 I organized the 1st Griffin LGBTQIA+ Pride Potluck, and then the local Democratic Committee asked me to run to be a Griffin City Commissioner. I was working full time at 1888 Mills (a local textile manufacturing plant, closed as of 2024), but my passion for people, labor rights, and justice led me to agree. We nearly doubled the turn out from 4 years prior, registered dozens of new voters, and only lost the election by 21 votes. I decided to run for County Commissioner because flipping this seat would flip partisan control of our board, at least giving the opportunity for change. Personally, I consider myself an independent, but I'm running as a Democrat because as a trans-nonbinary person, I know how hateful rhetoric and discriminatory policies can destroy lives and families. We must vote for change in our county, and elect pro-labor, pro-choice, pro-love candidates like myself.
  • When elected, I will prioritize lower costs for Spalding County residents and make it easier to own a home. Over the past 4+ years, our Commissioners have voted to raise the property tax millage rate; I would vote to lower it. We need rent and price increase caps, community protection boards, and a more cooperative economy.
  • Government should be by and for the people, and that means accessible and easy. I want to modernize our local government by cutting unnecessary bureaucracy and streamlining public programs. Transparency and community involvement should be the top priority for elected officials.
  • Protecting our local environment and making well-informed decisions about development, code enforcement, and maintenance is crucial to protecting opportunities for future generations. Our air, soil, and water should be clean and that requires sustainability in our infrastructures.

Taking into account the needs of all your constituents as you make decisions about how their tax dollars are used.
I was trained as a DJ, MC, videographer, and event organizer at Tronic Entertainment, a local Griffin-based Live Sound company, starting in 2016 and continued working with them until the 2020 Covid-19 pandemic.
