Zina Renea Cruse

Zina Renea Cruse is a judge of the Illinois Twentieth Judicial Circuit Court. She was elected to this position on November 6, 2012, to replace retired Circuit Judge Milton S. Wharton. Her current term expires in December of 2018.[1]
Education
Cruse received her received her undergraduate degree from Northeast Missouri State University in 1985 and her J.D. degree from Florida State University in 1993.[2]
Career
Cruse worked as a solo practitioner for approximately 15 years prior to her appointment as Associate Judge of the Circuit Court in 2009. In 2012, she was elected Circuit Judge.[3]
2012 election
Cruse was elected to the 20th Circuit Court on Nov. 6, 2012, defeating Laninya Cason with 54.0% of the vote. She defeated Anne Fohne Keeley in the Democratic primary on March 20, 2012, receiving 67.68% of the vote.[4][5][6]
