Zurich, Switzerland, Assisted Suicide Ban Initiatives (2011)

Two questions regarding assisted suicide were on the ballot in the Canton of Zurich in Switzerland on May 15, 2011. The initiative that would have banned assisted suicide was rejected by 85% of voters. The other initiative, which was rejected by 78% of voters, would have outlawed assisted suicide for foreign individuals, which has been referred to as suicide tourism.[1]
