Alfred Gemma
Alfred Gemma (b. January 27, 1939) is a former Democratic member of the Rhode Island House of Representatives, representing District 20 from 2004 to 2010.
Gemma served as a Committeeman on the Warwick Democrat City Committee from 1976 to 1978. He then served as Co-Chair of the President Jimmy Carter Campaign Committee from 1979 to 1980. In 1985, he was a delegate at the Rhode Island State Constitutional Convention. He also served on the Warwick City Council from 1992 to 1998. In 2004, Gemma won a special election to the Rhode Island House of Representatives. He has served in that position since, representing the 20th District.
Biography
Gemma attended Mount Pleasant High School in 1956, Providence College in 1956 and Brown University from 1956 to 1959. His professional experience includes owning Gemma's Auto Body since 1961. Gemma served in the United States Army from 1959 to 1960. He then served in the United States Army Reserve from 1960 to 1961.[1]

Elections
2010
Gemma ran unsuccessfully for re-election to the 20th District seat in 2010. David Bennett defeated him in the September 14 Democratic primary election. Bennett faced Republican Henri Koldyk and Moderate William Pierce, III in the general election on November 2, 2010.[2]
2008
In 2008, Gemma was re-elected to the Rhode Island House District 20. Gemma (D) ran unopposed and finished with 5,151 votes.[3] Gemma raised $8,309 for his campaign fund.[4]
