Running to improve Education, promote Conservation, & expand Affordable options.

Political moderate valuing hard-work and decency.
  • Education: We need to increase State Supplemental Aid investment, and remember that school communities benefit with lower student-to-teacher ratios. We should continue to strengthen our school and family relationships, and return to a statewide culture of respect and appreciation for our teachers and public schools.
  • Conservation: City, suburban, or rural, we all should do our part to be good stewards of our beautiful state- a place of rolling hills, prairies, woodlands, and wetlands. We’ve got to prioritize soil and water quality as we support our important agricultural community.
  • Affordability: I'm concerned that the next generation feels like home ownership, and having a family may not be an achievable reality. The rising cost of daycare, healthcare, housing, and basic needs is crushing the American Dream. As a father, that is not acceptable. Our younger generations need a future they can look forward to. I think it starts by strengthening our middle class.
I'm personally passionate about education, because it is critically important to our society and the future of our state.
I admire Theodore Roosevelt. He was a tenacious, hard-working person. He admired physical strength and strength of mind. He was an avid reader and outdoors-man. He was service minded. He established our National Park System. He stated, "this country will not be a good place for any of us to live in until it is a good place for all of us to live in." I think we need to be benevolent with our gifts and talents to the shared good of society.
Integrity and making the best decisions for the most people regardless of personal or party agendas.
Seek information from experts and listen to constituent input before making policy decision.
We want to ensure we can adequately support state programs and keep Iowa an affordable and attractive place to live.
Yes, I think it's important to understand other perspectives and how decisions impact urban and rural areas. We are all Iowans and should legislate more like that.
