Missouri: The first-degree murder charge against Terry D. Morrison has been dismissed. The 48-year-old Morrison was accused of murdering a woman at a Springfield hotel in September.

Judge Jason R. Brown dismissed the case after a key witness failed to identify the defense as the shooter in the preliminary hearing.

"Despite the very serious (nature) of the charges, I am required to dismiss the case," - Judge Jason Brown.

The prosecution has said it does not intend to immediately refile charges against Morrison. Morrison's attorney, Stuart Huffman, expects his client to be released within days.[1]
