Steve Faessel
Steve Faessel was a member of the Anaheim City Council in California, representing District 5. He assumed office on December 13, 2016. He left office on December 10, 2024.
Faessel ran for re-election to the Anaheim City Council to represent District 5 in California. He won in the general election on November 3, 2020.
Biography
Faessel obtained a B.A. in marketing from California State University, Fullerton.[1] [2] Faessel's career experience includes working as an executive at Ace Hardware, and teaching continuing education courses in electricity, electrical codes, and utility systems for the North Orange County Community College District.[3]
A local historian, Faessel has written four books about Anaheim history.[4] He has also been active in local organizations, serving as the Anaheim director of the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California, chairman of the Anaheim Budget, Investment, and Technology Commission, an executive committee member for the Anaheim Community Foundation, secretary of the board of directors of the MUZEO Planning Committee, corresponding secretary of the Anaheim Historical Society, president of Mother Colony Household, vice president of the board of directors of the Anaheim Museum, and a member of the Anaheim Flag Day Committee.[3] He previously served on the Anaheim Planning Commission, the Downtown Anaheim Redevelopment Design Ad Hoc Committee, and the Orange County Historical Commission.[3]

2016
The city of Anaheim, California, held elections for city council on November 8, 2016. The filing deadline for candidates who wished to run in this election was August 12, 2016. Because of a switch from at-large to by-district elections, four of the six city council seats were up for election.[5][6] Steve Faessel defeated Mark Lopez, Donna Acevedo-Nelson and Sandra Angel in the Anaheim City Council District 5 general election.[7]
