A bot is an automated tool that can carry out repetitive editing tasks that are helpful in maintaining the 637,296 articles on Ballotpedia.
Bots automate tasks. If you have a simple task which you need to perform lots of times (such as adding a template to every page in a category that includes many articles), this is a task well-suited to a bot. Bots excel at repetitive tasks that have easily defined patterns.
