Throughout my professional career, I have worked in Information Technology and Field Operations for multiple Fortune 500 companies including AOL, AT&T and Mattress Firm.
During Covid I, like many Americans, was laid off due to closures throughout the country. My dad, a disabled Vietnam Veteran, asked me to move from Texas back to North Carolina to take care of him and my mother. For the last three years I have been a caregiver to both of them, caring for my father as he's dealt with bone breaks from multiple falls. This has led to an increased understanding of how veteran's benefits work as well as an insight in how we can improve the system to support our warriors.
I am running to serve the people of District 60. I will work day in and day out to be a voice for the constituents and represent their will in the assembly.- Public safety is tantamount to a thriving community. Over the course of the last three years we have witnessed an unprecedented attack on our brave members of law enforcement, coupled with judges who no longer believe in prosecuting crime. I will fully support our law enforcement officers and fight for their ability to take criminals off of our streets.
- Our education system was decimated during Covid, leading to a horrendous reduction in the aptitude levels of our children. Couple that with the introduction of inappropriate learning material, especially in the curriculum of our younger children and it's no wonder why students are testing at a much lower level than pre-pandemic numbers. I will voraciously fight to protect the future of our students, ensuring that basic tenets of education - Reading comprehension, mathematical ability, writing competence and actual scientific education - are the core of our curriculum.
- Our southern border has become a superhighway for illegal entry to our country, with invaders from over 190 countries pouring in unchecked. Here in NC, and in District 60, we are already seeing an influx of these illegal aliens. I will work with the legislation to ensure that these individuals, whose backgrounds we are unaware of, are not relocated to our neighborhoods. There are legal pathways for entering this country for a reason and we need to adhere to the laws that are already in place, while strengthening our security with new legislation.
I will work day in and day out to represent the will of the voters in District 60. This includes showing up and voting every time in order to give a voice to the residents of the district.
