Save-the-Redwoods League

Save the Redwoods League was created in 1918 to save ancient redwood forests and redwood ecosystems. Since the logging of redwood forests, "approximately 5% of the original 2 million acre coast redwood forest remains."[1] Since the organizations founding they have preserved more than 189,000 acres of redwood land and developed 63 redwood parks and reserves.[1] Save the Redwoods League protects redwood forests buy purchasing land; restore logged purchases; award education grants to encourage future protection of redwood forests; and further study to learn the needs of redwoods to survive.[2]
