Donna Collins-Lewis is a Democratic member of the Baton Rouge, Louisiana Metro Council, representing District 6. She was elected to the council in 2008.[1]

In 2011, Collins-Lewis was a Democratic candidate for District 61 of the Louisiana House of Representatives.

Collins-Lewis ran in the 2011 election for Louisiana House of Representatives District 61. She faced fellow Democrats Alfred Williams and C. Denise Marcelle in the primary election on October 22, 2011. Because Louisiana uses a blanket primary system, a candidate can be declared the overall winner of the seat by garnering 50 percent +1 of the vote in the primary. Williams and Marcelle won the primary.[2]
