Born and raised on the southside of Indianapolis, Indiana, Aaron credits his parents for instilling in him the priceless values of Midwest work ethic. With their influence, he believes in the power of faith, the importance of laughter and the responsibility to give back to one’s community.
Aaron and his wife, Sarah, have three children and have called the Lawrence & Geist area their home for over a decade. Their family attends Heartland Church in Fishers where Aaron is actively engaged with various children and youth ministries. Together, Aaron and Sarah lead an English language learning program for primarily Spanish speaking families from Central and South America.
Aaron is the Founder, CEO and Wealth Advisor at Geist Family Wealth. Geist Family Wealth is a financial advisory firm dedicated to helping families and business owners pursue true wealth by developing custom-tailored solutions and providing long-term strategic advice.
Aaron obtained his undergraduate degree in Political Science and International Relations from Indiana Wesleyan University where he met Sarah. While working full-time during the day to support his young family, Aaron went to night school and earned his law degree from Indiana University’s Robert H. McKinney School of Law.

Aaron Short has indicated he is passionate about Fiscal Responsibility, Term Limits and International Relations. He has expressed concern for mounting national debt and fiscal mismanagement at the city, state and federal levels. He believes term limits should be instituted at various levels of government and has indicated his interest in committing to term limits if elected. He is passionate about international relations and desires to see restoration of Transatlantic partnerships, strategic investment in national cybersecurity defenses and has expressed concern about US-China relations.
