Alvin D. Johnson
Alvin D. Johnson is a former family court judge for the Thirteenth Judicial Circuit in South Carolina. He was first elected to the court by the South Carolina General Assembly in February 1996, and he retired on June 30, 2016.[1][2]
Education
Johnson received his undergraduate degree in history and government from Wofford College in 1983 and his J.D. from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 1986.[1]
Career
After graduating from law school, Johnson went to work for the firm of Acker, Acker, Floyd and Welmaker. In 1991, he was made a partner in the firm, which was then renamed, Acker, Welmaker, Floyd and Johnson. He stayed with the firm until his election to the court in 1996. From 1989 to 1991, Johnson also served as president of the Pickens County Bar Association.[1]
