Oregon: Today, March 31, is the final day to submit applications to Governor John Kitzhaber for a seat on the Washington County Circuit Court. The seat has been vacant due to President Obama's appointment of Judge Marco Hernandez to the United States District Court for the District of Oregon. Since there is no form of judicial nominating commission in Oregon, the governor will be able to select any judge to appoint from the list of applications sent submitted. To be considered, the applications must be submitted by 5 p.m. today.[1][2]
