Batesville Community School Corporation School Lease Agreement (November 2009)
There was a Batesville Community School Corporation School Lease Agreement measure on the November 3 ballot in Ripley County and Franklin County. The measure was defeated.[1][2]
This school corporation lies in both counties so both voted on the issue. It asked voters if the school corporation should enter into a lease agreement in order to renovate and improve the high, intermediate, middle and primary schools. To pay for the lease, property taxes in the area would be increased by $.44 and the total estimated cost of the projects would be $28,000,000.[3]
