Robert "Bob" Bailey is a judge on the 15th Circuit Court in Alabama. He was appointed an interim judge in June 2011, and he became an official circuit court judge in December of that year.[1]

Bailey was re-elected to the court in 2014.[2] His term will expire on January 17, 2021.[3]

Career

Prior to joining the circuit court as a judge, Bailey served as a juvenile court referee from 1988 to June 2011. He has also served as a part-time referee for the family court and as a district attorney in Montgomery County.[1]

Noteworthy events

In March 2013, Judge Bailey made news when he switched his party affiliation from Republican to Democratic. While petitioning the State Democratic Executive Committee, he said, "I am a Democrat. I felt bad every single meeting cause there is an 'R' by my name."[4]
